AJA has been in the business of bathrooms for over 50 years, specialising in the manufacture of customised and made-to-measure furniture. A brand renowned for its commitment to quality and the timelessness of its products.
We redesigned its two key pieces for sales, its catalogue and price list, to raise its positioning as a benchmark for design, innovation and quality in the premium segment.
The commission was clear: we had to achieve an attractive, minimalist design, where their collections would stand out on their own merit, and transmit the creative restlessness that so closely ties in with AJA’s differentiating character. A catalogue that would also inspire architects, interior designers and end consumers.
From the outset, we worked hand in hand with the client; we identified key areas for improvement and explored different visual references to align ourselves.
After this first phase, we mapped out the art direction, delicate and subtle. An approach based on functionality and user experience. It was clear to us that we wanted a balance between wide margins, generous whites and full-bleed images.
The use of a single typeface family was retained to emphasise sobriety and minimalism. We introduced complementary colours to the tones of their collections, serene and warm, and dark brown to create striking contrasts.
Small details, such as the application of dry-brushing and silk-screen printing on the covers, enhanced the perception of quality.
We modelled the new 3D collections, to inspire new trendy bathrooms that balance avant-garde and warmth. We rendered every detail, material and finish with a hyper-realism that transforms ideas into unique visual experiences.
This project is an example of how a clear vision and flawless execution can transform a functional need into a strategic opportunity to define brand perception.
